There is a green light at the end of Tom and Daisey's dock that Gatsby looks at every single night. The symbolizes his distance with Daisey but he still loves her. -BG
Green may also symbolize Vitality, The Future, and Exploration. "Or present a green card. Im giving out green----" also when Gatsby and Nick head to town. " Sitting down behind many layers of glass in a sort of green leather conservatory, we started to town"
-TG The Green light symbolizes the future that Daisy and Gatsby can have." Now it was again a green light on a dock. His count of enchanted objects had diminished one by one.

The Greenlight represents Gatsby's relationship with Daisy being distant and farther away than he wants it to be showing the importance of Green in the story.

The Greenlight is described as "minute and far away" meaning it is impossible to reach for Gatsby even though it is what he wants most in life, meaning Daisy and Gatsby's relationship together, past and present.

Not only could Green represent Gatsby's wants and desires but society's dreams as well, meaning the seemingly impossible materialistic American Dream that is so sought after in this time period.
