Myrtle Wilson and her husband, George Wilson, live in the Valley of Ashes. This is where Doctor T.J. Eckleburg's eyes are. The Valley symbolizes the dreams of the poor. George is an example because he does not have a lot of money with his poor business but he dreams of having it thrive.-JP
The Valley of Ashes is where Gatsby and Nick were pulled over by the policeman. This conveys the mind-set of the wealthy, they are cocky and think they can do whatever they please. (And they really can do whatever they want. This is shown when Gatsby shows the policeman a white card and he lets them go) -AK-47
There are many emotions that are reverberated throughout the Valley of Ashes. Jealousy is shown when Myrtle thinks Jordan is Tom's wife. Heartbreak is felt when Tom finds out it was Myrtle who was killed by the car. -AK-47

The Valley of Ashes is where the poor live, including George. They all want to leave the Valley and go on to achieve and accomplish more, but the Valley holds them back. This shows that the American Dream of wanting more for yourself and being wealthy is difficult to accomplish. George wants to leave to go to the West, and Myrtle dies while trying to run to Tom. -JP
